The level to which you’ve been transformed by the mission of Jesus will equate to your level of boldness for the mission of Jesus. You’ve been impacted by the mission and now you’re invited to be a part of it because we are a family on mission.
What’s up Valley Creek Students and welcome to Student Circles where we discuss the weekend message, engage Scripture, and pray together. It’s real life discipleship and we are so glad you’re here tonight!
Have you ever seen someone who lived completely free? Like they couldn’t care less what other people thought about them in the moment?
Like at the game when they got all the face paint, all the chest paint, the fanatical sports attire, the posters and they scream the loudest, dance on the Jumbotron, completely unapologetic.
Or when someone shows up to school with a new fit that’s super loud & everybody is like bruh, but they don’t care. They have zero cares to give, they are just boldly living however they want because they are living free
Have you ever seen someone like this? Raise your hand if you’re that person
But In all seriousness where do you live unapologetically? Where do you live so loud that you don’t care what other people think about it?
And maybe a deeper question for you is, do you live unapologetically when it comes to Jesus?
I want you to write this verse down…
Romans 1:16 says For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes
Salvation means to heal to save to make whole.
Here’s another to write down 1 Timothy 1:15 says Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
Both of these verses were written by a guy formerly known as Saul. The guy who was unapologetic in his persecution of Christians. He gave zero cares about what others thought about him. This guy was touched by the mission of Jesus and then became a part of the mission.
You’ve been impacted by the mission too and now you’re invited to be a part of it with us because we are a family on mission.
And the thing is you don’t have to do it alone either. Not only do we do it together, but God has also given us power to do it.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses
And if you’re still thinking yeah but I’m embarrassed or what if they reject me and I lose my friend group, I hear you, listen to this.
So, go back to Romans 1:16 and remember how he’s changed and is changing your life. Remind yourself of the hope you’ve found in Jesus.
Next week Is Easter. And we are going to put Jesus on full display! Let’s go on mission and invite our friends and bring at least one person with us to experience that same hope for their life too. If you’re not sure what to do here’s 3 quick ways to help you this week. Put these in your notes:
1. Use your social media. It’s probably the loudest and most far reaching voice you have. And it echoes, it gets shared and viewed over and over after only posting it once. Sometimes that gets us in trouble but what if we used it for Jesus? Let’s go on mission
2. Go out of your way to serve someone this week. You would be amazed at how serving someone opens the door to invite them to church or just share hope with them.
3. Tell your story of who you were, and who you’re becoming in Jesus. Tell people what he’s doing in your life.
Last verse I have for you guys is 1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
Let’s live unapologetically for Jesus, we’ve been impacted by His mission for us, now let’s go on mission with him to reach all of his lost sons and daughters.
