How Deep Are Your Friendships?

As you grow in your friendship with God and your friendship with each other, you’ll wonder, how did I ever do life without this? And the answer is, you weren’t supposed to!

What’s up valley creek students you are in the right place at the right time because we are launching the Fall semester for student circles…

With all the excitement that comes with starting a school year, sometimes we put things like Circles on the back burner of our lives, but you’re going to be glad you’re here now at the very beginning. At student circles we talk about the weekend message, we engage the Scriptures, and pray together, and through that what’s really happening whether you realize it or not is that you are finding friendship with God and others..

You’re going to discover that God is good and He’s good to you, and that you can trust Him with the details of your life. And the more this happens the deeper your friendship with God will grow..

And along the way, you will build meaningful friendships with your leader and those in your circle. You’re going to process life together and talk about all the fun awesome things going on and also the, not so awesome things going on. And together you’ll learn how to bring all of that to Jesus and trust him with all of it so you can live a life of freedom.

And as you grow in your friendship with God and your friendship with each other, you’ll wonder, how did I ever do life without this.. answer is you weren’t supposed to..

Check out Acts 2:46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

They ate together, they prayed together, they hung out together and really did life together. It was out of this context they flourished. Not isolated “me and Jesus” but it was always “us and Jesus” for them. They celebrated together, went on mission together and experienced breakthroughs together. And although they faced challenges, because they had a deep and meaningful friendship with God and others, they could confidently walk out their life’s purpose, no matter what.

All I’m saying is, you’re in the right place at the right time because you get to start your year with all of this in mind. So be intentional with the relationships in your circle and let’s build meaningful relationships.

And here are some of the best ways to take full advantage of this..

The first one is Be consistent. Unless your family is out of town, make it a priority to be here. The more you lean in the more meaningful the relationships become. When you show up each and every week, you’ll feel more connected to your circle as you follow Jesus together.

Next Bring your PBJ each week. When you bring your pen bible and journal, you’re saying you believe God wants to speak to you and you value His voice in your life. And the more you do this, your faith will rise and so will the hope inside of you that you get to carry to your world.

Also, Engage with your groupme. This app isn’t a boring message board, it’s a place to keep the conversation going outside of these walls. Think of it as your virtual circle, that you can take with you anywhere you go.
And the last thing is just believe that this year Jesus has even more for you. Don’t settle for just getting by when you were created to flourish.

This year, you’ll find friendship with God and others.. So why don’t we start by spending some time at our tables just getting to know a little bit more about each other as we begin to build meaningful relationships. “
