Leading doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s taking the hope that you have inside and making it a reality everywhere that you go.
You were created to lead. Everyone who has Jesus is Lord is filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered to be a leader. To lead others who are far from God back into relationship with God.
And here is what I want you to catch, if in Jesus you are a leader, then every environment you go into, you were created to lead… there.
You were created to lead your family. You were created to be a leader in your school. In your friend group. In the group chat. On social media. On your teams.
Being a leader is more than doing church activities. You don’t stop being a leader when you step outside of a church building. Because it’s what you were created for.
And Leading doesn’t have to be complicated. We talk about being a hope carrier all the time. It’s taking the hope that you have in here, and making it a reality everywhere that you go.
In the Bible, Jesus said things like “the kingdom of heaven is at hand” and that we have the keys to the kingdom of heaven”. He told us to pray things like “your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. Being a leader means that everywhere you go, you are bringing more of heaven, more of God, his love, his peace, his joy, his presence into the situation.
So if your family environment isn’t hopeful, you were created to bring hope.
If your friend group isn’t joyful, you were created to bind up hopelessness, and bring joy.
If your group chat isn’t honoring, you have the ability to speak truth into the situation.
If you find yourself in a conversation, situation, or interaction that isn’t reflecting the goodness of God, or is not in alignment with the will of God, you not only have the opportunity to change it, you have the responsibility to do something about it.
You were created to be a leader. Not just in a church building, but with your whole life.
So what would it look like to see yourself as a leader every place that you go?
